Boost up your system speed using Pendrive - Windows ReadyBoost

Is this possible to speedup your PC/Laptop using pendrive ?

Yes, we can speed up with pendrive. I will provide the steps to configure the pendrive as added cache memory for the system.

Steps,

1. Insert your pendrive in PC (Buy a New Pendrive) and wait for it to be ready to access.

2. Need to do the quick format. Most of the removable disks are configured in the FAT32 filesystem.

3. If you want you can change the file system as NTFS, change during the format. If it's NTFS, we can utilize full space for boostup. otherwise we can use partial space.

4. Next right click the pendrive and click properties. Then navigate to the ReadyBoost tab.

5. Here you are able to set the space limit to windows use for performance.

Open readyboost

6. Select Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost and Click Apply and Ok.

Configure readyboost

7. Now check your pendrive and it has a file ReadyBoost. Finally your pendrive is going to act as a System cache memory to boost up the performance.

If you want to remove/freeup the pendrive form ReadyBoost, Select Do not use this device instead of Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost and Click Apply and Ok

It's mostly suitable for low variant and old set of configuration PC's. I tried the same things with my PC, I can see the improvement. Could you try this and share your experience in comments. Check here for increase system performance. Thanks!
